For some of us who are still working and have the opprotunity of requesting a "Study Leave", I advise that we do not resign our appointment rather, apply for a Diploma, Graduate Program in higher institution in Canada. Processed the admission towards the medical and advise your employer. Good luck if you are granted the leave.
The period of being a student (and also working) will enable you gather time on the PR and at the same time keeping your job back home.
If at the end, you decides to go back to your country, you already have the status of citizen and you go back to your job. However, if you decides to quit your job to remain in Canada because you are now settled and can cope, goodluck again. The choice is now yours.
A friend of mine did this and she was back at home with her Canadian citizen working in a bank.
