Study gap 9 years

I have an education gap of 9 years.I have done my diploma in ophthalmic assistance in 2009.Now I am planning to join for opticianry course in a co op college in canada.Will this long gap of 9 years will affect my visa processing?I was working 9 years in the same field of the course I am planning to join. Can any one help me with this matter.

Well it can create problem but try to get good score in ielts . Aleast 7 bands. Then after you can try applying.
