Hello,

I applied for a student Visa while I was staying in Toronto, they rejected me twice, even though I had the money and written support form my aunt who is a canadian citizen. I am from slovakia, and now that my tourist visa is up, I am headed home. I would like to come back to canada to further my english.

I am 25 years old, hold a degree in engineering and speak beginner - moderate english. What are my next steps to coming back? I was thinking about applying for PR but the process seems lengthy and hard, take into account my english isnt great. I was also thinking my aunt can sponser me as a family member but she has adult canadian children.

thanks in advance

Your aunt cannot sponsor you. If you want to apply for PR, you will have to qualify on your own through one of Canada's economic immigration programs.

When you applied for a study permit, what were you planning on studying in Canada? In order to be approved, the studies you plan to take in Canada must make sense in light of any past education or experience. Since you hold an engineering degree, it would make sense for you to take a Masters next. To be approved, you must also prove that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Applying from Canada makes this very difficult to prove and likely contributed to your refusal. FYI - study permits are generally not approved for individuals who want to study English in Canada. You can do this in your home country and don't need to come all the way here to do that - so CIC generally views these individuals as non-genuine students.
