student visa delayed

I submitted my student visa application in july,2013 and was recieved by pretoria canadian visa office on the 24th of the same month but upto now i have not got any file number. they have not contacted me. i have sent them several emails but not got any feedback from them. its now 4 months and i dont know the status of my application.please advise how else i can contact them and how i can get my passport back.

Hey Zambia worried, Pretoria CHC are headache and takes damn long to process study permit... but few people got the permit in 5 weeks 4 weeks..... normaly they say 13 weeks.. but 4 month is alot...... did you submit via VFS? am not sure if VFS canada start operating 4months ago.... where you reside SA? where ?

and are you sure the courier service deliver your application to the canada embassy in Pretoria?
