Hello,
Me and my husband has an offer for PhD with full financial support and stipend from a university in Canada. I have two children under 4 yrs and a sister over 18 yrs. The problem is I want to bring my sister with me as she is orphaned and there is no body in my home country who can take care of her. My real aunt lives in US and she is agreed to bear the living cost of my sister during her stay in Canada with me. My both children are also very attached with my sister and she can do "care taking" of my children. Is there any way I can put her application of VISA? I have to yet to apply the VISAs for me, my husband and my children.

I would appreciate an early response.

No - you can't include your sister on your visa. She is not classified as your dependent for immigration purposes.

She can apply separately for a tourist visa. However there is no guarantee that tourist visa will be approved and it will only allow your sister to visit Canada for a few months (not live here). Also, she will not be able to attend school or work in Canada as a tourist.

It may be wiser to try to bring her to Canada on a study permit. However as you know from going through the process yourself, this is an expensive option. And again, there is no guarantee the study permit will be approved.
