student visa after being deported

I would like to know if a person who have been deported from canada more than 5 years ago for been ilegal have chances to apply for a student visa and a college from his country? Or it is more aceptable a visito visa to do first a Toefl course and maybe change the status inside Canada to start a college.

You will need to apply for Authorization to Return to Canada. And that won't guarantee a successful application for a student visa. Given your past deportation, you will need to supply extensive evidence and supporting documents you won't do the same again. IMO, the chances for approval are low.
