Student permit and Open-work permit (OPW) at the same time?

My spouse has been in Canada as a student under a study permit. We plan to apply for sponsorship soon pr and owp.

Will she have both a study permit and an open-work permit?
If not? what will happen?
Can she study under an OWP?

OWP only permits the holder to work for any company in (virtually) any field. It does not permit study or border traversal. She can hold both OWP and study permit if she wishes.
