I am applying for a student visa for admissions in the next fall. I wanted to know if my brother who already lives in Canada can pay for my SDS - GIC certificate? Will IRCC look for who paid for the GIC, where the funds came from etc?

Will there be any issue with Visa rejection?

Nope it doesn't matter who gives you the money to pay for GIC although it is better to have your sponsor pay for and your brother in canada can't actually pay and get the cert you will need your personal bank acvount in your home country and transfer the money to the bank you have chosen for your GIC so yeah your brother can pay for the gic but he can't directly send the money he will have to transfer money to you first and you will have to send the money to the canadian bank
