I am a Ghanaian and a first year student offering a masters degree, MPhil Chemical Pathology.

I have registered for a Global health conference slated for September, 2019 at the University of Saskatchewan- Canada and the conference organisers have sent me a letter acknowledging my registration to participate in the conference.

I want to kindly seek your expert advice on how to apply for a conference visa without been denied, looking at the recent increase in TRV refusals and my possible chances of approval.

Chances of approval are very low. It sounds like you registered for the conference and an employer has not registered for the conference and paid for expenses which would be a warning sign. Do you other international travel experience? If not that would be another warning sign. It will be assumed that you are trying to enter Canada to claim asylum.

Thank you for your response. I have attended a conference in South Africa for three days recently, can that be used as travel experience?
The conference is usually for researchers and students on Global health issues, knowledge in that would have helped me in my second/final year thesis but if chances are low would you advice I rescind my decision to attend the conference?
