Strike and interview question

My wife and I are waiting for an update now. We are currently in South Korea, so the application has been sent to Manila. I was wondering, how the strike is going to affect our application.

Also, if there is an interview needed, will I have to attend? I'm planning on returning to Canada sooner than my wife so that I might find some work.

Also, if I find work, would it be necessary to contact CIC about my updated work?

1) No one knows about the strike for sure because people are still getting visas.

2) Are you the sponsor or applicant? Only the applicant has to attend the interview.

3) You don't have to, but you can for "proof" you intend to return to Canada.
