Steps to apply PR from India under CEC Class

Hi Friends,

I am looking to apply PR under Canadian Experience class from India. I need detail/confirmation on the below points:

1. I understand i need to mail the application package to the below address from India as CEC applications are accepted only in Canada Please confirm

P.O. BOX 4000
Sydney, NS B1P 1J3

2. Can i pay by my credit card (master card) issued by my Indian bank.

I can help answer for the 2nd point. Yes you can use any credit card but I read somewhere in this forum where an applicant had faced an issue with his Indian CC. The credit card issuing bank refused his transaction as there is some RBI ruling on Foreign transactions limits. Please get this checked with your Credit Card company before using it.

It would be better if you get a draft made instead.

Yes to #1. Need to submit to CIO - Sydney.
Yes to #2 as well. But there have been cases that a foreign transaction has been declined by the CC company. Safest way is to submit a Certified cheque, money order or bank draft.

Thanks for the reply i am using that credit card since lat 3 years in Canada and never faced any such issue where CC was declined by bank or cc company.

Would you rather be certain that you application fees is accepted or wait in hope that your CC goes through?

i would still go with cheque or bank draft or money order....dont want my application to be returned after wasting one month just because of payment reason....

I have given a bank draft instead of using Credit card , since it can get declined or Referred ( for which the issuing bank customer service would call you to confirm the transaction before authorizing it) for high value / foreign transactions.

Yes, you can use Indian cc. as per guide one point you need to take care "If you are paying by credit card, please ensure that your credit card will be valid for at least nine months from your submission date."

I am also planning to apply for CEC from india.
On CEC site i see this is last chance before jan 2015 before express process starts.

I applied in July 2014 . Sent the courier through FEDEX ( sent on July 02. Reached NS on July 09). I took the draft from ICICI, payabe at Canada .

even I have applied from India under CEC and I have used my Canadian Credit card for the payment process and it went very smooth... I have used credit card because we can check any time if it has been cashed.
