Staying overseas with a Canadian spouse

Hi,Leon,
I am planning to renew PR card for my husband. He stayed with me, a Canadian citizen, in China for one year during the last five years. My question is what kind of documents we need to provide in order to count the one year in China toward residency obligations. I think that is not very clearly specified on the application package.

Did you have a visa to stay in China? A work permit? Did you have a job while you were there? Bank accounts, something like that? Any mail you got to your and your husbands mutual address? Do you have passport stamps, old boarding cards, flight tickets to prove when you were in China?
