Staying out of Canada

Hi All,
I was in Canada for over 3 years and came back to India in Dec 29, 2013. Is there any time frame within which I need to file the PR under CEC. Is it 1 year or 3 year...i am getting different view from different people, so would like to get it clarified.

It's within 1 year of leaving Canada.
And eligibility is 1 year of residence in last 3 years. Have a look on CIC website where eligibility criteria's are listed properly.
