Hi,

I sponsored my parents and my sister and and they arrived in Canada last March (2011), got their PR card and went back in 3 weeks. They will be coming in a month.
But it daunt to me now that I am not sure how long they can stay out of Canada after they get the PR. Is it unlimited? They have their PR card with them.

Will they have any trouble coming to Canada?

thanks in advance for your replies.

No - it is not unlimited. To maintain their PR status, they must live in Canada two out of every five rolling years.

Yes they can. But once they return to Canada after being away for three years they will have to remain in the country for two years (without leaving for even one day) in order to maintain their PR status.

once they enter canada for first time what should be minimum stay duration to complete all formalities. they are coming for two weeks only.
is there any law or rule for minimum stay for first timers to leave canada.

please advise

Yes - you can receive their cards. No - there is no minimum stay.
