Staying in Canada while waiting for application result

It will likely take over a year to get approved if you are approved so no you are unlikely to be able to visit Canada for that length of time. Do you already have a TRV and proof that you have significant savings and you could support yourself without working using savings for over a year? Even if you have a TRV you would only be able to visit Canada for a maximum of 6 months and you may have difficulty extending your status longer than that unless you have significant savings and can show that you don’t need to work.
