Statutory questions confusion

Hello everyone, I have a question about the following two questions in the PR application

1. Has [name of applicant] been refused refugee status, or an immigrant or permanent resident visa (including a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) or application to the Provincial nominee Program) or visitor or temporary resident visa, to Canada or any other country?

2. Has [name of application] ever been refused a visa or permit, denied entry or ordered to leave Canada or any other country?

Two years ago, I was refused of a study permit extension because my passport was expiring in less than 4 months. I reapplied and got a new study permit after I received my new passport. But I was never refused of a TVR or any other visa. Just the study permit.

My question is, should I answer yes two both the above questions or No to first one and Yes to second one because second one is the question asking about permits.

For (2.) submit LOE explaining it was just a refusal of extension due to passport expiry, and submit upfront Schedule A.

Have you or if you are the principal applicant, any of your family members listed in your application for permanent residence in Canada ever,

-Refused of Permanent residency visa.

My father applied for PR around 8-10 years ago and was refused. I was included in the application as an accompanying family member. I'm wondering if I should state this in the application or Schedule A. I don't know his application number and I don't think he remembers much of the details either.

What should I do with regards to this? Should I state this refusal even though I was not the principal applicant in that instance?

That is a very interesting question.
Should you answer yes even your father was the one being refused 8-10 years ago, and you were a dependent in that application?... Not 100%, but would be inclined to answer "Yes".
