Hello,

I apologize if this has been asked before but I could not find the exact information in the forum.

In the document checklist it says we need a "statutory declarations of individuals with knowledge that our relationship is genuine and continuing".

However, this is under "proof of common law relationship".

If we're married, does it apply to us?

I asked a CIC agent and he had no clue, he said to include everything in the checklist. The checklist also includes "photocopy of divorce". So if I never got divorced I obviously do not have to include everything that appears in the checklist.

If it does apply to us, is it absolutely necessary that these declarations are done in front of a notary/commissioner of oaths?

Thank you very much.

Alex

Hi

Although you are married it is still good to have a few letters just to confirm that you relationship is genuine. I dont think you need to notarize letters because you are married.

I would get 2 letters notarized just to be safe ;D
