Hi all,

I am waiting for my AOR as my BOWP got rejected for not sending it with my application. Since I am not under implied status anymore, I stopped working and now I am thinking of applying for the restoration of status to Student and applying for study permit. I can't find any information about losing the worker status and restoring it to student, as it seems one cannot apply for study permit from within Canada. Thoughts?

Also, since I would be taking courses as continuing education (towards certificate, not a program diploma), I would like to know how many courses or hours per week I need to be in class to be considered a full-time student. Any help would be appreciated!

Have you already been accepted by a school? In order to get a study permit you must first be accepted by a school into a full time program that is more than six months long. It's too late to be accepted for the September semester. The next semester for most schools starts in January. So I'm not sure that changing your status to student is going to work out given this timing...

You need an acceptance and/or enrolment letter from an education institution to apply for a study permit.

For short term (less than 6 months) programs you do not need a Study Permit but you need to have an otherwise valid status in Canada (e.g. worker or visitor).

You are full time if your school determines you to be full time. Usually 4 or more courses for undergrad purposes but there's no specific number of hours.

it is possible to apply to change conditions to visitor, and apply for restoration at the same time -
