We applied outland on April 2 got approved in Mississauga on May 18 and received a letter of approval and transfer to Buffalo on May 26.
We had our package returned with letter on June 4 saying there was no proof of legal status in US and to resubmit with the evidence.

My partner had sent his opt card and his f1 i20 that was still valid but this time we send every thing including copies of his passport pages showing valid visa and mailed the whole package back to Buffalo on June 6.

There is no reply back from them. we had emailed Buffalo about the status and they asked us to contact them after 30 weeks. We don't know what they are doing with it or even if it has been received. We forgot to add delivery confirmation. Does anyone know how to find out if the package has been received ?

You could try faxing them. What does your ecas say?And Buffalo should be sending you a letter stating they have started your app.

Unfortunately Buffalo is notoriously non-communicative. They don't respond to faxes and they only respond to email with a "canned" reply that tells you nothing and then you never hear from them again. In some ways, no news is good news because they would let you know if the application was being transferred to the embassy that represents his country of birth, but if you did not get delivery confirmation, you need to at least know whether they received your information.

My suggestion would be for you to contact your local MP and have his office make a case-specific inquiry (with your file number and all identifying information) verifying that they received the information you sent and asking whether the application will be processed, now, through Buffalo or transferred.

They wanted him to include his status in the US?

Interesting, I didn't see anywhere in which to include my husbands status here. Perhaps shoving in a copy of his green card would be helpful though!

we keep checking ecas and it says no information available.
I am in US as a student for the last 5 years and maintaining status so I see no reason for any file transfer.
what about filing CAIPS ?
do you guys think it would be useful to know where the file is ?
