Status during appeal process

Hi,

Can you please share what will be the status during the process of appeal. I am issued visa to attend hearing in person but visa is marked with RX-1.

I heard that during appeal process, i will remain a PR with active SIN, is it true? and can i apply and work during the process of appeal?

Any reference material/link answering my queries?
