Hi All,

I had requested CIC to reopen my CEC application

Here is my previous post for the background:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/refusal-please-help-t154134.0.html

And a month ago they told me they have sent my request to reopen the case to a VO to review.

I havent heard back anything from them yet and yesterday I checked my ECAS and the status has changed from Decision Made(rejection) to Application Received.

Has anyone had the same experience , If anyone could shed some light on it...If they have actually reopened it?

Thanks

are you expecting your application to be rejected and sent back? Are you trying to salvage that?

I think you should be patient to hear from them. There should be details and timelines when an application is reopened. Did you try to look for that?

Did you order your case notes or GCMS notes? It clearly says in that the reason behind the rejection.

Yes I did and it had the same reason as in the rejection letter....

@kprs_Ind
On clicking the current application received link....it shows the same timeline as that of the rejection.

Hi gimmeThatPR,

I would take the fact that they changed your status to Application Received as an indication that they reopened your file. As I recall, you had a good case.

In any case, if you'd like to confirm that, it's probably a good idea to email CIC asking them about it.

Hi gimmeThatPR,

Any updates on your case yet that you would like to share with us?
If you got your PR by now, I would appreciate if you can put your revised timeline.

Hi Gimme,

yes please let us know what happened with you, I have a similar situation in which I had a valid study permit while I am working.
I want to know what to expect. Thanks

I read your case. I had the same issue but fortunately CIC asked me to provide a transcript and I provided a written letter from the institution stating that I did not take any classes.

was your issue exactly similar? have you applied for a study permit after the post graduation work permit, or did you have a valid one before the work permit. Gimme's case was that he actually applied for a study permit after he got his work permit

I applied for a study permit after receiving PGWP to study at everest college because i couldnt find a job. Before classes began and after find a job in my field, I changed my mind and didnt attend classes. CIC knew this of course and asked me to send them transcript obtained from everest college. I contacted everest college right away and the registrar was able to provide me with a signed and dated letter that stated that I did not attend any classes. I emailed the scanned copy to CIC with explanation and received my MR 2 weeks later. Goodluck with your application. You deserve to get it because you have earned it. Just make your case crystal clear to CIC.
