I am curious about whether CIC do update their status message frequently.

There is someone on the forum that applied around Feb 2009 to Buffalo who asked me to tell them if my status changes. Please can you hit me up on message. Thanks.

Work permit visa

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can offer a few answer I've had trouble finding online.

I am from india and currently in Toronto on visitor visa and hoping not to leave Canada when my six months (as visitor) are up. i would like to stay in Canada and apply for job; received response from the companies for my job of interest; However i dont have work permit and planning to apply for one through some consultant;

How much time does it take to get work permit; can i stay here in Canada and get work permit;

i have valid H1 visa in US; due to recission i coudnot get the opportunity;

Thanks to anyone who could offer some help.

unfortunately, i have no answer to your question but have you looked at alberta's PR program for H1Bs.

Hi, I don't think you may get a work or study permit within Canada through a visitor visit. Usually you have to apply in your home country first and then you may renew the study/work permit within Canada. But is very unlikely you may get any of those within Canada. Take a look to these links, you may find them useful for clarifying your doubts regarding getting a work/study permit.
