Hello Everyone,

I became PR on 16 Dec 2016 and have not received my PR card yet although it has passed the maximum processing time of 50 days.As I am outside Canada, I have to apply for PRTD at vfs Chandigarh in order to travel back to Canada.I was single when I became PR and now I am married.

Do you think I need to provide any proofs for my marriage while sending my application for PRTD? Will it cause any problem for PRTD?

You need to apply with the correct and truthful information and don't hide anything from CIC. I am not sure if it will affect your application anyway however, don't lie.

Only you are getting PR TD, not your spouse. So I doubt they will ask for marriage proof. If they ask for marital status in the PR TD app make sure you put married, but it shouldn't have any implications on the application.

Once you are back in Canada, only then you can submit a family class PR app to sponsor your spouse.

Thanks for the reply guys..

now I got my PR card at Canadian address and someone will be bringing the card to India for me. Now I have to withdraw the application that I submitted at vfs India for PRTD, do you think it's a good idea? anyone has done that before?

Hi,

Did you take your application for PRTD back or went ahead with it.
If you withdrew the application what was the procedure for that and if you went ahead in how many days you received your PRTD.
Looking forward to your reply.
