Hi everyone!
I got married last July 25,2014. After 2 weeks I came here in Canada but my status is still single also in all my documents .I already received my pr card. I just want to ask if it is possible that i can sponsor my husband in going here? If possible what would be the first thing that I need to do. Someone told me that i will be questioned because i did not change my status before going here.. hope you can help me.

Thank you!

What date did you actually "land" as a PR in Canada?
What date did you get married?
Was your spouse included in your PR application?

If you married before you "landed" and your spouse was not included in the application, you can never sponsor him.

Sounds like you married in July and landed two weeks ago. Since you landed as single, you will never be able to sponsor your spouse. The only thing I can see is if you divorce and remarry, but even then you would be misrepresenting yourself by not listing yourself as previously married.

Divorce and remarriage is NOT going to work. CIC will consider it a "divorce of convenience" and reject it.

IRPR
New relationship

4.1 For the purposes of these Regulations, a foreign national shall not be considered a spouse, a common-law partner or a conjugal partner of a person if the foreign national has begun a new conjugal relationship with that person after a previous marriage, common-law partnership or conjugal partnership with that person was dissolved primarily so that the foreign national, another foreign national or the sponsor could acquire any status or privilege under the Act.

I landed here as pr Aug 11,2014 and we got married july 25,2014. He was not included in my pr application because all my documents are single. If i will change my status as married would it b possible to sponsor him? Thanks

No. You committed misrepresentation by not reporting him, so he is now banned forever from being sponsored by you. Any app you submit for him will be rejected as the CIC law is very clear here.

After you got married you should have returned your COPR, added him to your PR app and done his security/medicals, and you would have gotten PR together.

If you want a life in Canada together, he needs to find a way to immigrate here independently (like through skilled worker, provincial nominee, etc).

Rob_TO has given you all of the information you need.

You can never sponsor your husband because you failed to declare him before you landed. If you try, the application will be refused and you could also end up losing your own PR status.

If your husband wants to immigrate to Canada he will have to qualify on his own.

That doesn't make sense. If what you meant was, all your documents from your home country stated you were single, that still shouldn't have stopped you from declaring you were married before you landed.

Our wedding last july is a civil wedding and we are planning to have a church wedding next year. Is it still the same that i cant sponsor him? Thank you!

It won't change anything. You still won't be able to sponsor him.

No you can't sponsor him, forever. Not even the Prime Minster can do anything. He needs to immigrate independently, or you return home to be with him.

Well all your document shows you are single, so to me it seems pretty simple case. Why don't you go back to your country to get married in a year or so, and file spousal sponsorship. Spousal sponsorship are processed within a year, so it's not a long wait unlike the parents sponsorship! Anyways time flies, so even if it takes you two years, it's not a long time!

No, because she misrepresented when landed, she can never sponsor her husband, ever. No matter if she files again or marries again, it won't matter.
