State Police Certificates in US

Hi All,

I have got the medical request in the email today. They have also requested bunch of other documents including below:

Updated State Police Certificates for yourself and your spouse for each state resided in for at least 6 months.

Does any one has information on above request? and does it mean that I have to obtain criminal background clearance certificates from the residing states?

Also, do I need to send them FBI clearance certificate? they did't mention it in the email and I have sent them it with my initial application.

Appreciate any help on this.
