Starting a Business

HI All
We have got our COPR and are likely to do our landing in September. My question is how soon can we start my business in Canada and what is the procedure. Do we need a work permit. My husband is the primary applicant. Can I start my own business without him being a partner in it.

Once you land as PRs you do not need any work permits just a SIN for each of you.

As a landed PR you are free to work or start a business yourself regardless of whomever the original primary applicant was. Same statement applies for the residency obligation which is your responsibility to continue to meet and nothing to do with whomever the primary applicant was in the original PR application.

As for starting a business in Canada probably plenty of tips for startup, registering , tax etc through a Google search.
