Hello guys!

I am from TRV country and wanted to see if I can apply for my open work permit at the (US/Canadian border) port of entry to speed up a process. As it takes 3-4 months to receive my new Open work permit and my current one expires in 2 months.

My husband and I are about to mail our sponsorship application to immigration service and I have received an offer at the job of my dreams and scared not to be able to take it.

I've applied for a post-graduate work permit there before and seems like a great option. In addition, my US visa has expired, but somehow no one even looked at my visa at the US side even then (it was expired at that moment as well) as I've explained the situation in details.

If it is possible, what documentation we need to bring there?

Thank you!

Doing this is risky. It will not speed up the OWP process. Your re-entry to Canada is not guaranteed. The US may choose to do whatever they wish with you when they see your visa is invalid - that typically means turning you around, but it could mean detention for a while as well.

No, you cannot get this OWP at the border. It is not like a normal work permit.

Not sure what the issue is. Include the OWP app with the inland app and you can continue to work on Implied Status.
