Hi all,

I am a Canadian living in Argentina with my Argentine wife and I have Argentine residence. I would like for my wife to visit Canada with me this year and I need advice from anyone who has done this. As you know there is little info on the embassy and other websites regarding the specific case of bringing a wife for a visit. From what I have read it seems that she would arrive as a visitor with no special consideration that we're married (married civil and by church).

She visited me in Canada in the past and did the same visa, which has since expired. At that time my mother was her sponsor and I am thinking that is the best course of action. I just thought it might look strange that my wife is being sponsored by my mother and not by me. In any case if there is anyone that has done this same application in similar circumstances I'd appreciate any advice.

As well does anyone know if its better to apply online or by mail or are they just the same? And would it be advisable to hire an advisor to take in her application or is it fine to do it ourselves?

Thanks all!
