Hello all, I am an International student graduated this April (2022). I have applied for PGWP but not yet received a decision. Meanwhile, my spouse (applied for SOWP) and my daughter (applied for VV) got their PPRs on 2nd June 2022. They are ready to travel.
My question is that as I am on implied (maintained) status now, can my spouse (on SOWP) and daughter (on VV) travel to Canada? my study permit is valid till 30th April 2023.

Please help and suggest options.

Thanks!

They can travel to Canada but the question is, what will be validity of their Permits to be issued at the Border? the Fact that you completed your studies and are under implied status. Your spouse status will depend on your Skilled Employment status and this may be asked by the Border officials if they pull your record....

SOWP is valid for your study period and once you apply PGWP, you have to be in a qualifying job to sponsor your spouse for SOWP

Send the passport for stamping and see what dates are issued to her and plan accordingly.

This is correct. Sending PP for stamping is fine, they will stamp V-1 TRV but they may not be issued SOWP at the Point of Entry. Depending on Border entry Guideline, they may be admitted as Visitors with their valid V-1 Visa and not issued with SOWP. Once Principal has PGWP with Qualifying job to sponsor, then spouse can apply for SOWP

Thank you so much for all the responses. I have a NOC B job right now, and I think they might be issued the TRV till me study permit.
Can I get my PGWP by flagpoling before they travel and then I can provide my PGWP to them while they are ready to travel?

Flagpole will be your way forward. once you have your pgwp, fill all forms for your spouse and dependant as applying for SOWP after your qualifying job, attach documentations such as paystubs and letter, and send them to your spouse to present to the Immigration on arrival. they will review documentation and if all in order, they will issue her with SOWP.

Thanks once again. Some more questions, as my PGWP application is already in process, will that be affected of I flagpole? Is flagpoling easy if I have all the documents?
If rejected, will I be allowed to enter Canada based on the TRV (received with the study permit) which is valid till April 2023?

You will be asked to withdraw your application if they approve and issue you pgwp. yes with your valid trv, you will be allowed to enter to Canada. But final decision is with the CBSA
