Dear all, I hope that you are doing well. I would like your advice on this issue.

I got married to my wife in December 2020 in my home country Mauritius. I have been a PR holder since 2009. I am a full-time student at UofT and I do not work (my parents finance me) I am under no government assistance and I have no debt in Canada. I am trying to sponsor my wife and do my application in December 2021 and I was wondering if I could face any difficulties because I am a full-time student? My wife is a Mauritian citizen who is currently studying in the UK (Also financed by her parents).

Thank you all!

You will not have any problems because you are a student, though you will need to demonstrate a plan to cover her expenses for three years.

You will need to show how you plan to support your spouse. Unless you have a large amount of savings your parents should provide proof of their savings which shows that they have the extra money to support you and your wife in addition to their expenses plus a letter indicating that they are willing to support you.
