Spouse sponsorship outside Canada

I have PR in Canada, I want to go back to my home country to get married and then file the spouse sponsorship application there to bring my husband to Canada! I heard that because I have PR and I'm not citizen yet so I need to come back to Canada and file the sponsorship application in Canada and I'm not able to do it while I'm in back home. Is it really right? I'm gonna stay there for a while until my husband get his visa!

It's true.

You must submit the application from within Canada and continue to reside in Canada while it is being processed.
