Hello,
We have been reading different opinions on this topic on the web and would like feedback from anyone who might have been in the same situation as us (or knows in depth about the process).
I'm a Canadian citizen sponsoring my French husband. We are both living in France and we filed with an "out of Canada" class application.
We filed his PR application in April (the documents were received on April 26th) and we're hoping to move to Canada together early August as I have a job opportunity which starts in September.
The question is: Can my husband come with me to Canada and apply for a work permit under the conditions that he is filing for a PR card and is my spouse upon entry to Canada (similar to an open work permit)?
French citizens do not need to apply for a visitors visa to enter Canada so we were thinking he could come and just drive to the states if his visitors period was over as well if it was an issue.
OR
Does my husband HAVE TO be in France during the whole duration of time before receiving his PR status? We are also concerned about the need to mail in his passport and if he needs to be in France during this time or if he can mail it from within Canada?
We would really appreciate any kind of feedback!
Thank you in advance!
