Hi guys,
My wife is in india, I am PR in canada. I want to sponser her. But her passport doesnt have my name and my address and is on single status. Is it mandatory to update the passport ?
we have marriage cert, adhar card under my name(not my address) which says wife of, joint bank account.
please help folks

Go through IMM5533 checklist , and start filling out forms and you will find out what documents are needed for your case , Documents and proofs are all case by case and not generic . start with filling out forms.

e.g. if it's an arranged marriage, sure need more than just the marriage certificate.

Sorry for the misrepresentation. I meant only for marriage proof from India. Name change or address in the passport, aadhar etc is not needed.
and obviously, applicant will have to follow all/other requirements in the checklist.

Two different issues - demonstrating that the marriage was legally concluded and is a valid marriage (marriage proof) and relationship evidence. (Common law they overlap to some degree)

They're of course related but distinct issues.
