Spouse OWP refused

Hi, My wife's OPW is refused because my work permit is valid for 3 months only, and a spousal OWP won't be issued when the original WP expires in less than 6 months. Now my question is if we can apply for restoration of status as a visitor for my wife, i.e. is it possible to restore to a visitor status given that she initially held an open work permit?

Yes you can do that. Assume she quit working too.
