Hi,

Here's my situation. I'm actually working as a temporary worker (NOC B) here in Quebec, Canada with a 2y visa. Got my visa 1 month ago, and it's been 1 month I'm living/working here. My wife applied few days after I got my visa. She did the biometric stuff and the medical exam, since then she's waiting for an answer. But, I'm a bit concerned. I may be paranoiac, but after digging a bit in this forum, i saw a lot of refusal from guys in the same case than me.

Temporary Worker with a NOC 0, A, B (which is my case)
According to the official website of immigration, the spouse can obtain an OWP if I belong to one of those 3 NOC, but how to explain all those refusals?

When my wife applied, they didn't ask for any specific documents from me, so we put as additional documents : my work permit, my confirmation of work from my company (with my annual salary) and a letter from my wife explaining the necessity for her to rejoin me. We also added the proof that she's my wife.

Even so, I'm a bit afraid that it's not enough when I saw all the other case who look similar than mine. But that's so confusing, because I am in the specific case that allows my wife to join me, according to the informations from the official website of the governement...Should I be worry?

Thanks

Your spouse qualifies to apply for a spousal open work permit based on your work permit - however approval of the SOWP is not guaranteed. This is why you see refusals. If IRCC feels there are insufficient ties to the home country and it looks like you are trying to permanently move to Canada, this can result in a refusal of the SOWP.

To have the highest chance of approval, your spouse should provide evidence of ties to her home country (e.g. employment, property, assets). You also want to show that you have a sufficient bank balance to support her in Canada. Additionally, you want to include proof that you are working in a NOC A, B or 0 role (which it sounds like you did). Lastly, if your spouse has past travel to countries requiring visas (e.g US, UK), that will help her case.
