spouse open work permit with EE application

I am applying for SOWP for my husband but he already has active Express entry application with a UCI number.
1. Is it advisable for him to first withdraw his EE application or he can still go for the new SOWP application without withdrawing EE application?

2. In SOWP application UCI is asked , whether I should keep it empty or fill it as per the UCI that i received in EE application? Is it going to jeopardize my SOWP application?

1. No, he can have both applications running at the same time.
