Spouse Open Work Permit Info

Hello guys,
Currently i am working In Montreal and am on Closed Work Permit which is tied to my company and is valid till november 2019. Am planning to get married in May 2019 , so would Marriage Certificate be enough in case of Court Marriage because i don't intend to do a full fledged marriage function as of now.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. Also my company would be renewing my application in May so if i apply along with my application of renewal so would that help me or not?
