Subject - Marital status changing while in the process of applying for PR.

Hello,

I am currently single but may be married after getting an invitation to apply for PR for Canada. I have a few questions:

1. What happens if my marital status changes while I am in the process of submitting my documents - do I need to inform CIC? or continue the application as a single person? How can I include my spouse in the application then so he can come with me to Canada as well?
2. If I need to inform CIC - will they change my scores? Will I have to restart the whole process?

Thank you

1 - You must inform IRCC of your marriage by raising a CSE (assuming marriage occurs after submitting your application) - you will be required to provide some documents from your spouse such as marriage certificate, police certificate, medicals, and updated proof of funds.

2 - No. If you get married after submitting your application there won't be a recalculation of your points. If your get married before submitting your application then yes, there will be a recalculation of your points.

Okay - by submitting the application you mean submit all the documents after receiving an invitation to apply?
What happens if I get an invitation to apply and then I get married?

1 - Yes, submitting your e-APR after receiving an ITA.
2 - Recalculation of your points. Assuming you're adding her as accompanying.
