My wife came to Canada as a refugee. I met her when she had been here for about 8 months. We got married in October and had our wedding in January and moved in together after that. She was rejected for refugee status in January based on insufficient evidence. I didn't apply for spousal sponsorship before because her lawyer convinced me that it would delay things if she applied under spousal sponsorship. He was also very confident that he would win the case. She got her leave order in January and her removal order in February. I didn't apply for spousal sponsorship until March because that's how long it took the new second lawyer to apply. We recently got a deportation order/ order to report from CBSA with a firm date. I contacted the lawyer we used for the spousal sponsorship thinking it would be easier for him to apply for a CBSA deferral and a stay of removal. I am worried that taking these steps won't workout. I want to know if I have a strong case for my wife and what are my chances of her staying. I talked to an MP as well but I don't think that did much.

As far as her spousal sponsorship is going she got a request for medical but we got a pregnancy deferral. The pregnancy didn't workout and we're going to do x-rays today and complete the medical. When we made an inquiry with the MP on the status of our application they said they were getting a police clearance for Canada or checking I can't remember.

Please if anyone has answers please let me know
