Spouse got her work permit a day after medical exam request

Hi all!

I have a query. My Spouse got a letter asking her to do a medical exam and then the very next day her open work permit was approved.
Does she still have to do the medical exam. We are both in Canada by the way. I am here on a student permit and she has a visitor's visa.
