Hi

I applied my pr under manitoba provinical nominee program on jan 5th 2014. I am getting married in 24th may 2014. Can anyone suggest me how to proceed with my spouse(she is in india)

is it I have to apply visitor visa, once get approved-followed by spouse sponsporship after I get my pr??
Or
Is der any chance I can add on her detail when my pr is under process after I get married??
Or
Is der any option which would work well?

Please let me know asap.

Are you here in Canada now .

are you waiting for you P.R or do you have it already.

you will get more advice tomorrow by senior members . Go to Leon post at the beginning of this page , it will give you tons of information on how to sponsor , but i do believe that you have to have your P.R first before you can sponsor someone and have to be here for about 235 days , but i'm not sure.I have been here as a citizen 28 years . So when sponsoring my husband i didn't have to worry about my P.R requirements . You will get tons of advice. Hold on and tomorrow you will get your answers . good luck

Hi

When you get married in May, you MUST add your wife to your PR application. If you land as a PR without adding her, she will be excluded from the Family Class and you will NEVER be able to sponsor her. I cannot stress how important that it is for you to add her to your app.

Once you are married, inform CIC and they will tell you what forms you will you to re-send. Your wife will need to get the applicable police certificates and have the medical as well. When your application is approved, you will both get PR.

I would advise you to post any future threads in the Skilled Worker/Professional Immigration or Provincial Nomination Program sections of the forum, as that is what your situation is. This section is for those that are already Canadian citizens and PRs and are sponsoring their families.
