It depends on what kind of violation it was and how serious CIC considers it to be. USA and Canada share their immigration data.

This is not an inadmissible violation but Canada usually take such violations seriously. You must write LOE to convince VO for the true reason (remember USA share everything with Canada)

When you will receive ITA you will have an option to upload LOE (letter of explanation) in which you can write all necessary supporting details which can strengthen your case.
