I am applying under Federal skilled worker and my total points will be 72.
I’m thinking to bring my husband with me but we have a major concern which is:

1- Is it going to help my application (to add my husband in it) for stronger and positive chances of approver from visa office, even though I do collect on my own a total of 72 points?

I ask this question since I hear from people both sides of opinions of this matter, some say it might help my application more for an approval and some say it might turn against me. My husband might be busy working for another year in my home country and he plans to come and join me in Canada once he gets done with his work. However my husband I do believe he is well qualified even though I will be the one that is going to apply.

2- If is going to help me and if I decide to add my husband in my application than what are the rules; is it a must for him to come right a way with me or can he come a few months later since he might be busy working for a short period of time?

Is there any advantage or disadvantage if he goes the same time with me or if he goes later time with me? Are there any certain rules we need to know now?!

Thank you

Paola

1. It will neither be helpful nor harmful on adding spouse for immigration. Neither any advantage nor any disadvantage in including or excluding your husband in the application. The file will be handled in normal way.
2. Even if he is non accompanying member still you would have to incorporate his details in the application and he would have to undergo medicals. If you dont include him in application, only thing you will save is money, no application fee of CAD 550 AND LANDING FEE CAD 490 if he is non accompanying member.
3. He can be a accompanying member and can join you even after 1-2 years. But he would have to do landing formalities within 1 year of medicals and then come back to work in his country. To retain PR status 2/5 years presence is required in Canada.

It will help you.
If you add your husband, the process will be simple and normal.
If you do not add your husband, you have to so some extra work. You need to make declaration, affidavit why he is not coming with you. You must show proof of Fund for both you and your spouse.
If you process alone and get visa, and if you want to sponsor your husband, It will take another 1 year to get visa for your husband.

He can come later.
Visa validity is 1 years from your medical date. He must visit within 1 year.

No effect Whether you go together or alone
