Hello.
I am a citizen of Canada and live in Canada, and my girlfriend lives in Dominican Republic.

My girlfriend applied for a visitor visa in January of this year and got denied. I am not sure if this is important or not, but I was never mentioned in the visitor visa. It was purely just for tourism.

We are getting married in 2 months or so. I was wanting to sponsor her with a spousal visa. We have been together for 2 years and I have taken many trips to spend time with her.

My question is . Does the fact the she got denied for the TVR impact the spousal visa? If yes, how so?

thanks :)

What do you mean by a spousal visa? Applying for permanent residence for her.?

It should not affect a permanent residence application. It will be very difficult for her to get a visitor's visa in the meantime.

Yes, I meant applying for a PR.
I realize it would be very difficult getting a a visitor’s visa but I was just wondering if it would affect the PR application.

Thanks for the response.
