Hello Dear,

I just became Permanent resident in Canada and my Fiancé is here with me on a visitor visa for a month. We are planning to go to India and get married in July. Her Visitor visa is expiring on 30 Nov 2015. Once we get married she will come with me till her Visitor visa expires. I want her to stay with me after that. The following are the inquires I have.

1. I can apply for outland application in August once we come back and she can leave the country on 30 Nov and wait for her Permanent residence. What are the chances that her Visitor visa will be extended?

2. Once we come back in August we can apply for Inland application with OWP and Visitor Visa extension (knowing that the process will be longer). Can she leave Canada and come back during the application in process? how long does it take to get the OWP in Inland application?.

Please advice what is the best option so that she can be with me. I don't mind if she stays with me and not working as I can manage the expenses and all. All what matters is that she is here with me in Canada and can leave when she wants and come back.

Thank you in advance

Does she have a multiple-entry visitor visa?

If she applies inland, it is recommended that she not leave Canada during the processing of the application. She can leave, but if she is not let back in, the application is over. With a multiple-entry visitor visa, she probably would be let back in, but leaving when you have an inland application is always risky.

Thanks for the reply Canadianwoman.. Yes she has a multiple entry visa. Have you seen any case on this forum where the applicant got rejected at the port of entry and application got denied
