I want help! I have put my wife’s dependent file from India in June month. I came India for marriage in January and I suppose to return to Canada on April end but flight restrictions stucked me over here, during that time I prepared my wife’s file and sent directly to Canada via courier, but still not got file number. Now I just got my ticket for Canada on 4th sept via indirect route.
my question is did I made mistake to put my wife’s file when I am in an India ??
Due to ticket postponed, I couldn’t able to reach Canada on time, so please suggest me what to do

Are you a citizen or PR?

You unfortunately did in fact make a mistake by submitting the application to sponsor your wife while you were in India. PRs must be in Canada to submit a sponsorship application.

Unfortunately it's difficult for us to say what will happen. IRCC may let this pass or not notice. Or this could be grounds for refusal. You could keep your current application and see what happens. Or if you want to play it very safe, you can withdraw the application and submit it again once you are in Canad. Very difficult to say what will happen in your case.
