Spousal Sponsorship

Hello All,

I just recently applied for my spouse under the family class. Just wandering to see if anybody over here has been through the process normally on the site it says the whole processing takes 12 months. Any one whose application took lesser than the above mentioned time frame ??
And same with the file number 4 to 6 weeks?
Lastly the most important question i do plan couple of months after to go visit my partner for two months that shouldn't be a problem or is kindly let me know.

Are you a PR or a citizen? If you are a citizen, then you are good to visit your partner. If you are a PR, you should limit your trip to 3 weeks to avoid the sponsorship application being refused. PRs must be living in Canada to qualify as sponsors.

Obtaining a file number takes 8-10 weeks. Yes - end to end the process is generally 12 months - although shorter is certainly possible.
