Hello Sir,
My husband has PR visa of Canada and now I want to apply for the same. I have the marriage certificate as well as other required documents.
Now when I do apply for PR , how long will it take to complete the whole procedure as per the new rule.

It all depends where you're from and what visa office your application will be sent to. I assume you will be applying from abroad (outland) rather than from within Canada. There are drastically different approval times for each visa office.
There are two stages: 1) sponsor approval (in Mississauga) and 2) applicant approval (at your visa office abroad).

The first stage right now is completed in 69 days. The second stage is dependent on which visa office your application will be processed at. Here is a link to the different visa offices and their second stage approval times: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

Good luck!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
My husband will apply for my visa from Canada itself.
What is due processing time in this situation.

Are you in Canada? Or will you be outside of Canada when your husband applies? If you are outside of Canada, what is your contry of residence?

Hi,
When my husband does apply for the visa i will be in India(new Delhi).
My husband is in Canada.
In which case would the visa procedure be completed at the earliest, the one where I apply from India or the case in when my husband applies from Canada?

i have notice that people apply thru New Delhi have PR quite fast. 3 months for stage 1 and about 1-2 months for stage 2. =) u better send ur application outside canada, thru new Delhi. Good luck!

Linh

Hi,

Send it through canada it takes maximum 8 months, but i have 2 friends that both married in india and both cases completed in 3 months.

Thanks

Hi laghmani,
Thank you for your reply.
Your friends had send their application from Canada or India?
3 month its too good... :)

If you, the applicant, are not in Canada, then your application must go through New Delhi. It does not matter whether you mail the forms from India or your husband mails the forms from Canada, they would have to be mailed to Mississauga and then would be sent from there to the New Delhi visa office.

New Delhi is one of the faster offices :D

If i will apply from New Delhi, how much time it will take to complete the whole process?

If you look at the website provided (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp) it shows that 80% of applications were processed within 8 months (that means fewer than 8 months, so it could be anywhere between 1-8 months, but it seems like many people have had it done in 2-3 months). You also have to add in the 69 days for the sponsor's application to be processed in Mississauga, so you are looking at anywhere from 3-10 months.
