Spousal Sponsorship - URGENT QUERY

Hello all!

I am originally from the UK and held a two year open work permit. I then applied for PR but the application got rejected as it was considered incomplete. I am now currently on a visitor visa.

I recently married my Canadian girlfriend but we are not yet living together. Would this be an issue when applying for in Canada class? We would also like to apply for an open work permit.

Yes you’ll need to live together if you are sponsoring him/her and applying for an OWP.

Do we need to be living together for the basic in-Canada class sponsorship, or is that just for the OWP aspect?
