I am new here and hope you guys could help me out. Not sure who to ask. But one of my friends suggested that you people might be able to answer my few questions regarding sponsoring my wife.
I landed 1st time in Canada in 2013. Got my PRC and went back and stayed out of Canada for 2 years. I got married in April 2014 and in Dec 2014 I came back to settle permanently in Canada. I'm looking for a job and not working yet. And no I am not on government assistance.
I now want to sponsor my wife.
My questions are:
1. To sponsor my wife, do I need to file tax for the years 2013 and 2014 when I was living outside Canada?
2. If the answer is 'yes' to my 1st question, then how much earned amount (minimum) for 2013 & 2014 should I show?
3. Is it gonna do me any good if I show more earnings for 2014? Will the process be smoother if I show greater earnings for 2014?
